We live in a world that consumes energy like it is going out of fashion and that is almost true. It is being used up at an incredible rate. The oil is being pumped out of the ground as fast as we can get it and we consume enormous amounts of electricity. Most people are agreed that this must have a detrimental effect on the planet and damages the air we breathe and the future for our children so we should make better use of the energy from the sun.

Photovoltaic cell, those black squares used to make a solar panel, are getting more and more efficient as additional develmentsare made. They are also gradually becoming less expensive and thanks to ever-better designs which enables them to capture more energy as their efficiency rises, meaning that each cell becomes cheaper to produce and much more productive. The price of producing solar-generated energy per watt hour has come down to around $4.00 at the time of this writing whereas 17 years ago it was more like double that cost.
Solar panels are readily available and can fairly simply be used to replace expensive mains power with our own free local supply for years to come. It simply make sense to use solar.
